General Info

The 2024 Pride March Adelaide will be held on Saturday 2 November 2024. Gathering from 2pm at Murlawirrapurka/Rymill Park, the March will commence at at 3pm - travelling in a loop via East Terrace, North terrace, Pulteney Street and Rundle Street, back to Murlawirrapurka/Rymill Park. See the map of the route.

Please note that the March begins at 3pm, earlier than in previous years. Anyone who supports queer LGBTIQA+ people and communities is welcome to participate. The March will be followed by Adelaide's premiere Street Party "Poppin Out" in Synagogue Place.

Access

The March route is flat and wheelchair accessible. Auslan interpreters will also be present.

 

Individuals, Friends and Family

Individuals and small groups of friends and family can simply turn up on the day. We will gather from 2pm and the March starts moving at 3pm. There will be music playing throughout the march playing. Participation in Pride March Adelaide is free.

Groups and Businesses

Groups and businesses that include and support LGBTIQA+ people are invited to register so that we can plan the order and logistics of the March. Registrations are now open, and will close on 13 October 2024.

Vehicles

  • Groups may use a vehicle.

  • Groups using a vehicle must register with Pride Adelaide.

  • Groups are limited to one vehicle each due to limited road space at the gathering point in (emergency services excepted).

  • Drivers must be licensed and legally entitled to drive on public roads.

  • Vehicles must be registered and roadworthy.

  • Vehicles must be small enough to be driven with a regular drivers licence (emergency services excepted).

  • Vehicles must travel at walking pace – not more than 5 km/h.

Motorcyclists

  • The march is led by the motorcycle contingent.

  • Motorcyclists do not need to register.

  • Motorcyclists must be licensed and legally entitled to ride on public roads.

  • Motorcycles must be registered and roadworthy.

  • Motorcyclists will have permission from SA Police to not wear helmets during the March.

  • Helmets must be worn before and after the March. 

  • Motorcyclists must travel at walking pace – not more than 5 km/h.

  • Motorcyclists may have a passenger.

  • There is a Facebook Group where we will post up-to-date information for motorcyclists.

General Safety

The safety of participants is our number one priority. The following prohibitions will help us all stay safe.

  • No Fire - open flames, fireworks, flares, fire batons, fire breathing, sparklers, etc. are prohibited.

  • No Projectiles - nothing is to be thrown at people, instead you may hand things to people.

  • No Loose Glitter - loose glitter is not permitted as it is lethal to animals and the environment when washed into our waterways.

  • No Balloons - balloons are not permitted unless they are biodegradable.

  • No Racism, Sexism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Biphobia, etc.

  • No Alcohol - the gathering point, ending point, and march route are within a dry zone and the police may fine you if you consume alcohol.

  • Please co-operate with directions from Pride March Volunteer Marshals.
