An update from the Pride Adelaide Committee

Pride Adelaide wishes to acknowledge and thank two long-serving members of our committee, Eric Kuhlmann and Stephen Leahy, who have recently stepped away from their formal roles.

Eric is a passionate and influential presence within our community. As Chair, he was the driving force behind the evolution of the modern Pride March—transforming it into the bold, visible, and joyous celebration it is today. His leadership and commitment helped guide Pride Adelaide through a period of exciting growth. Eric’s work has extended across numerous organisations and causes throughout Adelaide, leaving a legacy that will long be felt.

Stephen has played a key role as Secretary, contributing to the smooth operation of Pride Adelaide’s events and meetings. His support behind the scenes and ongoing commitment to the community have been valued and appreciated by the committee.

We are deeply grateful to both Eric and Stephen for their time, their leadership, and their unwavering commitment to community.

As part of this transition, Dave Newman has been appointed as the new Chair of Pride Adelaide.

While change can bring reflection, our committee remains strong, united, and energised. Pride Adelaide continues to stand as a grassroots, community-driven organisation, with a clear focus on visibility, representation, and growth.

We look forward to welcoming our communities back to the streets of Adelaide this November as the Pride March returns, and to the celebration of our stories, history, excellence, and community spirit at the South Australian Pride Gala in June.
